Tyler Trollington on The best political system… Marahib on Pandas are useless! Mr WordPress on It’s alive,it’s al…
My post today will be on political systems and which ones I think are the best and a brief description of each system.
1-Meritocracy is a system of government or other organization wherein appointments are made and responsibilities assigned to individuals based upon demonstrated intelligence and ability (merit).
Meritocracy does what it says. The ones who deserve ”merit” governing do so.It could be argued that democraties are meritcracies however they are not in it’s purest form.
Many critics of meritocracy point out that choosing the ”merit able” people who will govern is in itself a fallacy within the system.
Nonetheless this system tops my list.
Think of a world were there is one ruler that governs according to the need o the masses. No complicated elections no political rivalries just one leader with absolute power that everyone aproves of.
Unfortunately this system is hypothetical.Due to human nature it cannot be realistically achieved.
3-Fascism is a radical and authoritarian nationalist political ideology.Fascists seek to organize a nation according to corporatist perspectives, values, and systems, including the political system and the economy.
Now obviously this is going to spark some controversy due to the regimes that adopted fascism mainly pre II world war Italy and the Nazis of course. However in it’s purest form fascism is actually a good idea.It encourages industrialization and lowers unemployment drastically. It also allows any entrepreneur to rise to the top with very little barriers to entry.
Corruption is both a major cause and a result of poverty around the world. It occurs at all levels of society, from local and national governments, civil society, judiciary functions, large and small businesses, military and other services and so on. Corruption affects the poorest the most, whether in rich or poor nations.
The issue of corruption is very much inter-related with other issues. At a global level, the “international” economic system that has shaped the current form of globalization in the past decades requires further evaluation for it has also created conditions whereby corruption can flourish and worsen the conditions of people around the world who already have little say about their own destiny.
A difficult thing to measure or compare, however, is the impact of corruption on poverty versus the effects of inequalities that are structured into law, such as unequal trade agreements, structural adjustment policies, so-called “free” trade agreements and so on. It is easier to see corruption. It is harder to see these other more formal, even legal forms of “corruption.” It is easy to assume that these are not even issues because they are part of the laws and institutions that govern national and international communities and many of us will be accustomed to it—it is how it works, so to speak. Those deeper aspects are discussed in other parts of this web site’s section on trade, economy, & related issues.
That is not to belittle the issue of corruption, however, for its impacts are enormous too.
I’d love to read your comments on the subject.
The Giant Panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is native to Central and Southwestern China and has for many years been the most visible of the planet’s endangered species.
“There’s really no point in helping them really,” said zoologist Professor Dwayne Shultz of The American Institute for Things That Need Saving.
“The Panda is simply not a sustainable species.”
“They’re black and white for a start, yet they live in a green jungle for God’s sake.”
“And their diet consists of eating 30 pounds of the least nutritious plant in the entire jungle, every single day.”
The world’s zoos have spent millions on their efforts to grow the Panda population over the last 30 years, to little or no effect.
“Pandas just aren’t interested in sex. Even the really kinky stuff.”
“Do you know how difficult it is to get a female panda into a basque?”
“I’d rather spend my time saving an animal that had even a passing interest in chasing tail.”
I gotta agree with the poor scientists.Honestly.Do you guys realise that they actually have to literally have sex for them?I mean genetical reproduction of course not the crazy stuff you were thinking about!
“If we’re brutally honest we should have given up a long time ago, it’s just that they’re so damned cute.”
“It’s like looking at a big fat albino who’s been repeatedly punched in the face.”
When told of the news, Chi Chi Jnr, the son of London Zoo’s most famous Panda, merely shrugged his shoulders and continued slowly munching bamboo.
I am a little bit surprised that so much money is spent on saving what could be argued as handicapped bears.
What are your thoughts?
A very interesting article about education and why degrees are just about the prestige and not about the actual knowledge.
I have to say that I agree with the article it’s very damaging to the overall innovation process that young people are forced t go through 4-8 years of higher education to be given the chances to unleash their potential.
What are your thoughts on this?
This story is a bit old but I though I would bring it back to life. It’s crazy.
3 people lost about 5 billion dollar in a week over one stupid action.
”Nick Leeson – lost $2billions: Peter Young – lost $800milllion: Toshihide Iguchi lost $1.1billion: John Rusnak lost – $991million: In January, John Rusnak was found to have lost his bank hundreds of millions of dollars. He now awaits trial. Like other rogue traders before him, he had fallen into a crazy web of deceit, covering up his losses while losing yet more in a desperate effort to recoup debts. Why take the risk?”
How I would lose a billion? Well I wouldn’t call it lose I would most probably spend it.
I’d buy myself 30 trophy girlfriends,an island a private jet a bunch of cars a mansion in Switzerland one in Brazil and one in France and shove the rest in high saving accounts in the Bahamas and Panama.
So over to you readers.
What would you do with 1,000,000,000 dollars.
I though I would cheer up the mood of the blog today and include a hilarious scam bait operation that I stumbled upon(a scam bait is when a scam victim fools the scammer into doing various crazy stuff).
The mother of all scam baiting operations has to go to scam baiter “The Failure”, who may or may not work in a New York computer shop. Too bad scammer “Cole” didn’t know his intended victim was a regular at http://www.scambaiter.com. What happens over the next several weeks was documented day-by-day online, and even involved many of the website’s readers. It all started when “Martin Cole” sent a fake check to buy some laptops for shipment overseas. Failure’s alias “Warren Turnbuckle” protested he could not ship overseas without all freight fees paid, in cash, up front. Since he was paying with a fake check anyway, Cole sends the cash, but cunningly overpays the $4000 bill with a $4500 check, and asks Turnbuckle to refund him the $500 overpayment within 45 minutes of receiving the check. Turnbuckle responds that he can’t cash the check for 5-10 days, but will sell the laptops anyway if Cole sends a shipping courier to pick them up. Turnbuckle also promises to refund the shipping costs once the check finally clears. Cole bites, and agrees to pay for freight for several “Anus” brand computers, arranging for UPS to pick up them the very next day (far ahead of the check bouncing). So Failure packed 7 large boxes with garbage, dead CD ROM drives, and two trashed laptops with “ANUS” scratched on the screen. Estimated shipping charges totaled $3,186.67. UPS was in on the sting, and agreed to not deliver until Cole paid them for shipment. Scambaiter.com readers wanted in on the joke as well, and when the shipment was suspiciously diverted to Manchester, UK, a reader posed as city worker offering to fix Cole’s house as part of an urban renewal project. Cole then proceeded to show the “damages” he did to his own house after receiving ‘a bunch of rubbish in the post”. Photos, audio recordings, shipping labels, and hilariously incoherent death threats from the ‘governor’ and the dreaded ‘Clique Mob’ can be found on a now-classic thread that spans 80+ pages. NSFW, but worth an hour’s reading all the same.
